Armed police were scrambled to stop two knife-wielding serial killers, only to discover a couple of men dressed in Halloween costumes.
Officers were called after reports of two men with masks and a machete who were causing alarm to the public on a busy road in Basildon, Essex.
The tactical team found the men were wearing Michael Myers and Jason masks, inspired by classic horror films Halloween and Friday the 13th.
