Three arrests following Pollards Hill drug raid

Neighbours reported hearing loud “banging and shouting” early on Wednesday morning (May 19) as police raided an address in Yorkshire Road.

An eyewitness said: “It nearly gave me a heart-attack – all that noise made my heart sink.

“The banging and shouting, the police were extremely loud.”

Following the incident, a spokesperson for Met Police confirmed they executed a search warrant at a property.

A statement read: “At around 6.30am on Wednesday, May 19, police carried out a warrant at an address on Yorkshire Road, Mitcham, under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

“Three people, a 21-year-old man, a 20-year-old woman, and a 44-year-old woman, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned with the supply of Class A drugs.

“They were taken to custody where they remain at this time. The investigation continues.”
