Caroline Flack has been pictured in an Instagram post from Valentine's Day, believed to be one of the last photos of her before she died.

The former Love Island presenter, who was found dead at her London flat on Saturday, appeared in an Instagram story published by her friend Mollie Grosberg.

Ms Grosberg, a TV producer, captioned the photo: "Our funny valentine brought us cookies and oat milk this year."

In the photo Flack is seen wearing a silk red dress and is smiling as she adjusts a fuzzy television screen with a remote control in her hand.

The image made up a series of tribute clips that Ms Grosberg posted early on Monday, including a video of Flack enjoying a recent indoor rock-climbing session in north London.

Ms Grosberg also revealed that she is looking after Flack's dog, posting a photo of the French Bulldog alongside the caption: "Having Ruby is the only thing making us smile right now".

Flack posed alongside her pet in a collage of photos on Instagram on Friday – her final post on the app before it was announced that she had taken her own life.

Ex-Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona added her voice to the debate over the pressures on Flack, telling Sky News: "It could have easily been me."

She said that like Flack she'd been in the public eye from a young age and had struggled with mental health issues.

Katona went on: "I know how it feels when you lose all your contracts and everyone turns against you."

Ex-tennis professional Burton released a statement on Instagram on Saturday, writing: "My heart is broken, we had something so special.

"I am so lost for words I am in so much pain I miss you so much I know you felt safe with me you always said I don't think about anything else when I am with you and I was not allowed to be there this time I kept asking and asking.

"I will be your voice baby I promise I will ask all the questions you wanted and I will get all the answers nothing will bring you back but I will try make you proud everyday.

"I love you with all my heart."

Burton had withdrawn his complaint against Flack ahead of her assault trial, which was due next month, and Flack's management has hit out at the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) for continuing to pursue the case.

"The CPS pursued this when they knew not only how very vulnerable Caroline was but also that the alleged victim did not support the prosecution and had disputed the CPS version of events," their statement said.

"The CPS should look at themselves today and how they pursued a show trial that was not only without merit but not in the public interest. And ultimately resulted in significant distress to Caroline."
