Former Chief Whip Mark Harper has become the twelfth Tory hopeful to enter the leadership contest to replace Theresa May.
The former immigration minister said he was convinced to run after watching the other candidates leadership bids over the last week.
Although Harper is happy to acknowledge hes the underdog in the race, he believes he can offer something others cant – a lack of involvement in the failure to deliver Brexit.
He told The Telegraph the other Conservative candidates have shared the responsibility with May over the UKs delay to exit the EU.
The MP told the newspaper: Weve seen basically the same faces saying the same things that theyve been saying for the last three years.
